Earl V. Harrington, 95, of Green Bay died Friday, September 26, 2008 at his home. Earl was born June 12, 1913 in St. James, Minnesota, the son of the late P.W. and Helen (Boden) Harrington. He was a 1931 graduate of Lemars High School, IA and attended the Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Earl was graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City School of Dentistry in 1939, and Orthodontic School in 1941. He started his practice in Green Bay in 1941. Earl served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps from 1943 to 1947. Earl married Gladys Hasbrooke in 1938. In 1950 he married Catherine (Peg) Sladek. Earl enjoyed music and was a bassist in the Earl Harrington Avalon Band, the Green Bay Polyphonia, Symphonette and Symphony for 20 years and Last of Big Bands. He also enjoyed fishing, golf, tennis and skiing. He was a former member of Brown, Door, Kewaunee Dental Society (President and member of the Executive Board), Chicago Orthodontic Society, Wisconsin State Orthodontic Society (Secretary), American Association of Orthodontist (Golden Anniversary Group), member of Omecron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Fraternity and member Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, member of the Green Bay Junior Commerce, Oneida Country Club, and Union Congregational Church. He is survived by two daughters; Janice H. Burns, Green Bay, and Jean West, Pittsburg, PA two sons; Timothy (Suzanne) Harrington, Encinitas, CA, and Thomas (Victoria) Harrington, Wauwatosa; six grandchildren; Laura (Tony) Lentz, Jennifer (Keith) Rathmell, Calee Harrington, Susan Harrington, Rachel Harrington, Kate Harrington; four Great Grandchildren, Owen and Chloe Rathmell, Arwen and Justin Lentz. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.W. and Helen Harrington, first wife, Gladys (Hasbrooke) Harrington, his second wife, Catherine "Peg" (Sladek) Harrington and one sister Ruth Harrington. Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 3rd from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum, 2121 Riverside Drive. Memorial service 4:00 p.m. Friday at the mausoleum. The family extends a special thank you to the staffs at Home Instead and Unity Hospice for the excellent care they gave Earl.
