James was born to Bernice and Oscar Cram in 1928. He was raised with his siblings, Bob, Cliff, Bon and Peg in Grand Island, Nebraska.

James attended Gran Island high school where he met his future wife, Joan Hydo. In 1947 James graduated high school and in 1948 he proposed to Joan Hydo. Joan graduated in 1949, then married James in September of that year.

Shortly after their marriage James was drafted into the army and was deployed to Korea. Joan and James moved around to several states while James was in service. After returning home in 1952, Joan and James had their first child together in 1953, a son named James jr.

After their son's birth, the couple and their son moved to Lakewood, Colorado and together in 1957 they had their second child, Russell. The family of four stayed in their Colorado home for a few years, until they moved to Rialto, California. In California James and Joan had their third and final child, a son named Daniel in 1965.

A year later, in 1966, the family moved back to their home in Lakewood, Colorado where the couple raised their family of five. Joan worked for the government and Jim was a union electrician. Jim and Joan's three sons all graduated from Lakewood High school and all became union electricians just like their father.

Later, in 1996, the couples youngest son, Daniel and his wife had their first child, Marissa. Then, in 1998 Daniel and his wife had their second child , Kaylee.

Jim and Joan loved to have their grand daughters over all the time and spend a lot of time with them!

Sadly in 2007, James died from cancer at the age of 79 and was buried at fort Logan National Cemetery.
Five years after his death, James son Russ died from cancer at the age of 55.

In November of 2013, James wife Joan tragically passed away from lung cancer and was buried along side of her husband at Fort Logan Nation Cemetery.

James and Joan are now survived by their sons James jr.,and Daniel, their daughter-in-law and their two grandchildren Marissa and Kaylee.

James "Jim" has been deeply missed and his memory will forever live on in the heart of his friends and family.
