US Congressman. Elected to represent Missouri's 7th District in the United States House of Represntatives, serving in 1879. He also served as the United States District Attorney for the Western District of Missouri from 1858 to 1861, and Delegate to the Missouri State Constitutional Convention for the 27th District in 1875. A veteran of the Civil War, he served in the Confederate Army.
