In the Sentinel of 9 APR 1825, one of Butler's earliest papers, was a notice similar to this: Mr. David Russell married Miss Jane Patton, both of Donegal Township on Thursday last by Reverend John Coulter.
In a Friday issue of a later paper of 11-13-1885 was a death notice for Mrs David Russell, nee Jane Patton, who died at eighty-two in Cherry Township 11-3-1883, was born on the farm in Concord Township where her brother David lived, had been married over fifty years to David Russell who died 3-8-1876, was member of Presbyterian Church for 52 years, had been blind for six years (not direct quote).

Mrs. Russell's maiden name was Patton. She was born in Concord township on the farm where her brother, David Patton, now resides. She married David Russell with whom she lived for over fifty years. Mr Russell died March 8, 1876. Mrs. Russell was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church for fifty-two years. She died in full hope of eternal life. Her latter end was peace. she had been blind for six years."
