Leo W. Nepermann, of Woodstock, formerly of Huntley, died on his 90th birthday, April 15, 2004, in his home.

Mr. Nepermann was born April 15, 1914, on a farm in Dundee, the son of William and Bertha (Holtz) Nepermann. He married Gladys L. Zimmick on Feb. 20, 1947, and they operated a dairy farm in the Huntley and Dundee areas for many years.

He retired after 21 years with the Flowerwood Nursery of Crystal Lake. He loved being outdoors, raising chickens and ducks, yard work and swinging on the heirloom swing in the backyard. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Woodstock, and formerly of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Huntley.

Survivors include; his wife, Gladys; eight children, Gloyd (Sharon) Nepermann of Lakeside, Calif., Janet Johnson of Hammond, IN, Ruth Mau of Wauconda, Susan (Dr. Leonard) Hurley, of Dundee, Karen (Ray) Lucich, of Woodstock, Steve (Mary) Nepermann, of Garden Prairie, Jerry (Gail) Nepermann and Scott Nepermann, both of Huntley; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and little Katie; a sister, Viola Schwemm, of Crystal Lake; and a brother, Leslie (Shirley) Nepermann, of Dundee.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sons, William and Kenneth; and a brother in infancy.

Funeral services were held April 19 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodstock, with Pastor Tom Rogers officiating.

Interment in the McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.

Memorial contributions in his name, may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society or the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
