Sylvia M. Dodd
Funeral services for Sylvia M. Dodd were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 1990, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina with the Rev. Jerry L. Turner officiating. Burial was in the Newark Cemetery.
Mrs. Dodd, 78, of Edina, died at 7:12 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 1990, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina.
Born June 12, 1911, in Knox County, she was the daughter of Frank and Florence (Rhoades) Anderson. On December 20, 1930, at Novelty, she married Joseph Shelton Dodd, who preceded her in death on June 11, 1965.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, James Lloyd Anderson and Edward Russell Anderson and three sisters, Juanita Anderson and two who died in infancy.
Surviving are two brothers, Wilbert Anderson of Burlington, Ia. and Daniel Andrew Anderson of Seaside, Ore.; three sisters, Gladys Duggins of Edina, Velma Lee Edsell of Bay Point, Mich. and Geraldine Hatfield of Kirksville and several nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Knox County, Mrs. Dodd and her husband resided in the Novelty community. She had lived in Edina since 1965 and attended the United Methodist Church there.
Bearers were her nephews.
