Raymond E. Propson, 53, W2074 County PP, Hilbert, died of an apparent heart attack Saturday afternoon, May 23, 1987, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center, Neenah.
He was born April 17, 1934, in the town of Woodville, son of Amelia Sell Propson and the late Elmer Propson.
Mr. Propson attended school at St. John.
On Feb. 23, 1963, he married Mary Schnell at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel.
He was a lifelong resident of the Hilbert area and for the past 35 years worked as a meat cutter at Potter Meat Market and Hilbert Meat Market, where he was employed at the time of his death.
He was a well-known scat player and had played in several tournaments.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hilbert, and the Tri-Parish Council of the Knights of Columbus, Hilbert.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; his mother, Amelia Propson of Hilbert; five daughters, Mrs. Paul (JoAnn) Koeck, of Mountainview, Calif., Lynn, Katherine, Rosemary and Gloria, all at home; a son, Mark, at home; a grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Arvid (LaVerne) Amel and Mrs. Kenneth (Delphine) Bodinger, both of Chilton, and Mrs. Nicolas (Delores) Franzen of Kiel; three brothers; Ralph, Kenneth and Gary, all of Hilbert and their wives, Judith, Mary Ann and Janine, respectively.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hilbert. The Rev. Anthony Birdsall was the celebrant. Burial was in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Kiel.
The Sansom Funeral Home, Hilbert, took care of arrangements.
