Ida Lou Ross, 64, of Kahoka, died Dec. 5, 2013, in Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul United Church of Christ, Kahoka. Burial will follow in Kahoka Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday in Wilson Funeral Home, Kahoka, with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

Ida Lou Ross, age 64, of Kahoka, MO, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the Scotland Co. Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO, following a valiant battle with breast cancer.
She was born August 24, 1949 in Avon, IL, a daughter of Waldo F. and Enola Mae Kapfer Wells.
She married Larry L. Ross on July 5, 1969 in Wayland, MO.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; her children and their families: James (Jennifer) Ross, Will, Luke, Anna and Emma; Kevin (Amanda) Ross, Karlee, Jade, Hope and Kole; Carrie (Troy) Hamner, Elana and Kaden, all of Kahoka; one sister, Phyllis Rice of Columbia, MO; brother, William (Connie) Wells of Quincy, IL; mother-in-law, Dorothy Ross of Kahoka; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann (Ralph) Plenge, Jr. and Marilyn Sue Ross, all of Kahoka; seven nieces and nephews; seventeen great nieces and nephews as well as other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Laverne Ross.
Ida graduated from Clark County R-1 High School in 1967 and attended Truman State University in Kirksville.
She was a stay at home mom and occasionally reluctantly helped Larry on the farm by working ground or feeding livestock and running errands. According to Ida, her biggest contribution was delivery of homemade hamburgers to the fields at noon.
She taught music at Luray elementary for two years and had been a substitute teacher in the Clark County R-1 district. She had been piano accompanist for the Clark County R-1 High School music program for 25 years.
At the age of eleven, Ida became a church organist at the original First Baptist Church in Wayland, MO, and in 1976 became church organist for the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. In addition, she was the director of the St. Paul Children's Choir and of the former youth choir. She was instrumental in encouraging many of the youth through the years in glorifying God through their music and through their faith.
Ida was piano accompanist for the Mark Twain Chorale, a group of local singers who traveled extensively in Europe, giving concerts in Austria, Germany, Ireland, England, Italy and Switzerland over a period of several years.
Her greatest pride was watching her children grow up and become productive members of the community and her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka with the Rev. Dixie Laube officiating.
Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
