Antonio (Tony) Vazquez has always been a man with a dream. Born in Tampico, Mexico, he always strived to work hard. In his early twenties, he moved to the United States in search for something more. He worked on farms, in Texas, California, New Mexico and Arizona.

It was not until the 1940's that Tony realized, while being a cook for the agricultural Bracero's program, that he had the talent of making great food. After the Bracero's program was over after WWII , Tony held odd jobs in farming and restaurants. It was not until the 60's, while being a chef at a Scottsdale restaurant that Tony decided that he was done making money for others and wanted to share his talent and food with others.

It was on February 2nd, 1970 that he opened Tony's Cafe, only seating 16 people. From that day on, Tony's Cafe has seen generations of families come in and enjoy his Mexican food.

While Tony is no longer in the kitchen, and spends his time at home, he was committed in completely training his son-in-law to take the reins in the kitchen. Tony's cafe continues to be family owned and operated, just like the day it opened. His wife and children are here daily. Not only do we strive to please you with our delicious food, but we make it part of our daily priorities to make you feel as though you are part of the family.
Thank you for you continued support.....
