Rock Musician. He was the vocalist of the popular 1960s to 1970s Canadian rock band, 'Lighthouse.' The group formed in Toronto, Ontario, in 1968, with the likes of drummer Skip Prokop, guitarist Ralph Cole, and keyboardist Paul Hoffert, among others. Together the group released 11 albums, and played at the Isle of Wight, Newport, and the Monterey Jazz Pop Festivals, before they disbanded for good in 1976. In 1982 and 1993, the original members got back together and did some reunion concerts, as well as releasing greatest hit compilations in 1989, and again in 1998. Both Prokop and McBride also went onto have successful solo careers. The group's many recordings include, 'Silver Bird,' 'Sunny Days,' 'You Girl,' 'Beneath My Woman,' 'Merlin,' 'Broken Guitar Blues,' 'Letter Home,' 'You Give To Me,' and 'Lonely Places.' Bob McBride passed away in Toronto, Ontario, on February 20, 1998, at the age of 52, from complications of years of substance abuse.
