Funeral services for Rosie Mae Washington, 63, of Grenada, are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Burning Bush M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Haven Rest Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark-Williams Funeral Home.
Ms. Washington died Nov. 28, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Clark-Williams Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral set for city's first female officer


Funeral services for Grenada's first female police officer are set for Saturday.
Rosie Mae Washington, 63, of Grenada, will be remembered at an 11 a.m. service at Burning Bush M.B. Church. Ms. Washington, who retired from the police department in 2009, died Nov. 28 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Ms. Washington served 29 years and five months as a law enforcement officer in Grenada. She said she began as a dispatcher before moving up the ranks from sergeant then to captain. In February 2006, she was named assistant police chief.
The Grenada native was a graduate of Mississippi Valley State with a degree in social sciences. She received law enforcement training at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy.
Ms. Washington, along with other members of her family, was also active in the civil rights movement as a teenager in the 1960s.
