Daughter of Robert Parsons and Eleanor Hines in Albemarle Parish

Married Isaac Weathers. Name changed to Withers.

She and her husband bought land in Buckingham Cty Va. She is not named on the sale and is believed to have died.

Notes: Will of Robert Parsons 18 June 1777/18 Sep 1777. Daughter Mary Sanders. son William Parsons the three slaves he carried with him. Daughter Uriah Weathers her mother's trunk. Daughter Amey Ekman. Son Henry Parsons.
Grandson Osburn Smith, son of my daughter Amy Ekman. Grandson Robert Parsons, son of Henry Parsons. Debts due me from Isaac Weathers, John Sanders, Adam Ekman and Henry Parsons. Exors: Henry Parsons & John Sanders. Wit: Robert Watson, Nicholas Ogburn & Thomas Whitfield.

Her husband moved to NC/SC border.

Isaac Weathers, b. abt 1738 & d. June 18, 1814 (son of Thomas Weathers & w.
Lydia (Pettway?) , of Surry, Sussex, & Brunswick Counties, Va., Parish of
Albemarle and later of York County, S.C., married Urith Parsons, dau of
Robert Parsons & w. Eleanor _____(d. Nov 9, 1770) of Albemarle Parish.

Isaac inherited a cow and calf from his father Thomas in 1744 and an equal
part in the estate at Lydia's death (one sixth).

Our first record of Isaac after Thomas's will of 1744 is from the Register
of Albemarle Parish, Surry & Sussex Counties 1739-1778, transcribed & edited
by Gertrude R. B. Richards, Ph.D.: Lucy, dau of Isaac Weathers and w. Urith,
b. Oct 3, 1761; c. Dec 13, 1761. Gdpts: Wm. Parsons, Mary Weathers & Lucy
Blaton.

(1 , p146) (Note--swk. If Isaac was b. ca. 1738, he would have been 23 yrs
at Lucy's birth)

Note--swk: Isaac was living in Brunswick Co. by 1776 (purchased land
Brunswick 1771)

Note--swk: The debt owed Robert Parsons was probably 50 lbs used to purchase
Brunswick land in 1771.??

Note: swk--Isaac's signature in a petition is the same as in his will of
1812, viewed in the 1960s &recorded York Co., S.C. & which I understand is missing from the files (ca 1980)

Isaac Weathers poll-1, slaves -2, County--Brunswick
Isaac purchased land in Brunswick County, Va. feb. 23, 1771 from William Abernathy & w. Elizabeth. 50 lbs current money--116 acres more or less.
(Deed Bk 10, p150). He sold Feb 23, 1791 to William Short, Junr. The land was located on Wm. Short , Sr.'s line, Field's line, pools branch, to Clayton's line & to William Short's line.. Signed by Isaac Weathers (no wife
signed). In presence of John Short, Edmund Field, & Nath'l Harrison, Jr.
(Deed Bk 15, p55). In the deed of sale of the Brunswick property, it refers to "Isaac Weathers of S.C., formerly of Brunswick"

Isaac Weathers is listed in the 1790 U.S. Census in Camden District, York County, S.C. He had a 99 year lease with the Catawba Indians. the land was just south of Charlotte, N.C., near Pineville, N.C. and the family attended
the Flint Hill Baptist Church , York County, S.C. where Isaac, his sons Benjamin, Edmund, William and their wives are buried as well as daughters Mary "Polly" Blankenship and Susanna Blankenship. (79) Daughter Lucy married
David Edwards of Brunswick Co., Va. Jan 18, 1786 and probably remained in Va.
