Jesse L. Rogers, age 93, of Harvard, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Mercy Harvard Care Center.

He was born January 9, 1920 in Tennessee, to Johnnie L. and Elizabeth M. (Sullenger) Rogers.

He married Lorna L. Schutt on September 20, 1947 in Harvard. She died October 23, 1993.

Jesse had worked at Starline Inc. in Harvard for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Harvard and the International Association of Machinists Union. He enjoyed gardening and carpentry.

Survivors include three children, Rudy (Val) Rogers of Machesney Park, Anita (Don) Fisher of Harvard and Judy Baltazar of Belvidere; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, James Rogers of New Jersey, Billy Rogers of Lynchburg, Tennessee, Clay Rogers of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Ray Rogers of Lynchburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Virginia Cowley of Nashville, Tennessee and Edwina (Ed) Hughes of Adrian, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and two sisters.

The visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Monday, November 25, 2013 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard. The funeral will be 12:00 noon Monday, at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Sward officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Harvard.
