Charles H. Meiselwitz, 52, 14409 Woodside Lane, Kiel, owner of the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel, died Monday afternoon, July 28, 1986, at Holy Family Medical Center Manitowoc, where he had been a patient for six weeks.
He was born Oct. 24, 1933 in Plymouth, son of Henry and Minnie Voelker Meiselwitz. He attended Kiel public Schools and Ripon Collage and graduated from Gupton-Jones Mortuary School in Dallas, Texas, in 1959.
On July 4, 1953, he married Ann Giaraffa in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Meiselwitz was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Kiel and served as church treasurer. He was a member of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association, and was past president of the Lakeshore Funeral Directors Association.
He had served in the U. S. Army Medical Corps from 1952 to 1955.
Survivors include his wife; his father of Calumet Homestead, New Holstein; his mother, of Kiel; two sons, Mark of LaCrosse and Capt. Terry Meiselwitz, Eglin Air Force Base, Fort Walton Beach, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Connie) Staponski, West Germany, and Mrs. Raymond (Gail) Bruesewitz, Boling Brook Illinois; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. James (Mary) Buck of Lakewood, California, and Mrs. Mark (Kay) Horton, Indianapolis, Indiana.
The funeral will be Thursday in Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Joe Anderson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Kiel, will officiate. Assisting will be Rev. John Baumann, pastor of St. Peter’s United and Church Christ, Kiel and the Rev. Thomas Leannah, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel.
Cremation will follow the service.
