He was born to Isaac and Maribah Morton Behunin

He married Martha Jane Rawles 20 May 1868 in Rocklin. Placer, California.

Together they had the following children; William Henry, Lucy Jane, Mary Caroline (King, Fix), Cora Edna (Lynch), Ruby Ellen (Fink), May Belle (Quine, Tickle), Sarah Elizabeth (Kincheloe), and Lullu Grace Behunin

Philo apparently left for California after leaving Utah for sometime. He settled down in Rocklin, Placer County, California where he met Martha Jane Rawles who lived next door to him.

Martha's father served in the Mexican American War. After their marriage, they moved to Fresno, CA where Philo started his business of coal, wood and general contractor.

He helped build the Kutner Goldstein building in Fresno.

There were 8 children from the glorious union of these two fine people: May Belle (Mable), William, Lucy, Mary, Cora, Ruby, Sarah, and Lulu. Nothing else is known about Philo except he was well respected and loved by his family very much.

His wife Martha remarried. She married a gentleman by the name of Alexander Tickel. There are no children from this union.
