Obituary:
Mr. Jeffrey Alan "Jeff" Crawford, 50 of Blackshear, passed away Thursday evening, December 5, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic Health System following an illness.

Born in Warren, Ohio on July 30, 1963, Mr. Crawford moved from Savannah to Pierce County in 2000. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a member of First Baptist Church where he was known as a "fisher of men". He helped minister to the needs of the local people by serving at the Sycamore Tree, the Shade Tree, Garden View Retirement Assisted Living, the Storehouse as well as helping with the church van ministry. Mr. Crawford owned and operated Southeastern Taxidermy in Blackshear and had worked as a dietary aid at Baptist Village. He loved to support the Pierce County Athletic Department and enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, who became his care-takers when he became ill.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Marie Heider Crawford of Blackshear; two children, Tiffany Elise Tindall (husband Robert) of Axson and Brittany "Boo" O'Berry (husband Benji) of Millwood; his parents, Bill & Joy Haines Crawford of Coshocton, OH; a brother, James Crawford (wife Lisa) of Coshocton, OH; mother-in-law, Jeanne Heider of Fernandina Beach; one grandson, Bentley O'Berry; several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions may be made to the Sycamore Tree Fund or The Mission Fund at First Baptist Church, 670 Main Street, Blackshear, Georgia 31516.

Visitation:
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening, December 10, 2013 at First Baptist Church.

Service:
The funeral for Mr. Crawford will be held at 4:00 o'clock Wednesday evening, December 11, 2013, at First Baptist Church.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
