OBITUARY-
Ellen A. Benson, age 93, of Austin, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home.
Ellen was born April 20, 1912, in Crystal Lake, Iowa, to Nels and Beate (Christiansen) Orwick. She attended school at Red Oak Grove and was confirmed at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church.
On Nov. 21, 1943, she was united in marriage to Wilmer G. Benson at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. They moved to Austin in 1963 and were members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Ellen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing cards and traveling taking many trips.
Survivors include two sisters: Gladys Rossow and Margaret Rossow; sister-in-law, Lillian Krahulec; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, George; sister, Lillian; and husband, Wilmer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Karen Behling officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today at Mayer Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
The casket bearers will be Bruce Rossow, Bryan Rossow, Chris Rossow, Bryce Rossow, Craig Rossow and Donald Soukup.
