Burl Carl Smith, 87, died December 5, 2013 at The Lakes of Monclova in Maumee, OH. He was born to the late Nelson Monroe Smith and Gladys (Hashover) Smith, married Mildred Matilda Jacobs on December 31, 1948. He owned his own business and was a veteran of World War II. He was active in the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. For many years, Burl and Mildred ministered to people in northwest Ohio volunteering for The 700 Club and hosting Bible studies. He is survived by his wife and their children: Dr. Sharon Smith (Dr. Joel Kestenbaum). Steven Smith (Linda Strain), Jeffrey Lynn Smith (Dianne North), and Philip Andrew Smith (Nancy Green); grandchildren: Matthew (Theresa) Smith, Rachel (Shawn) Charney, Sarah Smith, Joshua (Jamie) Smith, Sarah (Chris) Bednarz, Jessica Brown, and Danielle (Patrick) Kilcoin, Hannah (Jeff) Smalarz , Jeremiah (Tiffany) Smith , Jennifer (Justin) Butler, and Zachariah Smith; great-grandchildren: Kara, Noah, Isaac, Lucas, Laura, Rebecca, Cynthia, Garion, Giada, Gabriella, Hailey, Michael, Landon, and Ellianna. Burl is survived by his siblings: Ray Smith, Elvin Smith, Mary Kuras, Ruth Grey, and Vera Ramsden. Eugene Smith, Delmar Smith, Alton Smith, Marcille Newman, Carol Tolles, Myron Smith, and Jane Gould preceded him in death. "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. " Matt. 25: 20-22 Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, 2014 from 12 noon until the time of Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. at Peinert Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, Ohio. Interment will be for family on Monday, December 9th at Wingston Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Burl's honor may be gifted to Zion's Hope, P.O. Box 783369, Winter Garden, Florida, 34778.
