Minos Dorsin Miller, Sr.
Jennings - Minos Dorsin Miller, Sr., 83, father of Judge Minos Dorsin Miller, Jr., third Circuit Court of Appeal, died early today, May 1, in a Lake Charles Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, in First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Eskel Tatum will officiate. Entombment will be in Miller Mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller was born in Grand Chenier and was a retired attorney. He taught school in Johnson Bayou and later practiced law in Lake Charles and Vinton.
He was a veteran of World War I and retired from the U. S. Army Reserve in the grade of Major. He was a member of the parish, state and American Bar Associations and was active in the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and worked with scouts for many years.
Other survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Ezora Riensta of Nederland, Texas, Mrs. Mathilda Wallace of Carmel, California, Mrs. Clarissa Norval of Beaumont and Mrs. Arisse Theriot of Creole, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Minos Dorsin Miller, III, James Valcour Miller, Edwin K. Hunter, John Hall, Harold Landry and Whitney Theriot.
