Edith T. Dawson
Funeral services for Edith T. Dawson, 93, of Lexington were held Feb. 8, 2003 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home with D.W. “Red” Dawson officiating. Interment was at WANETTE Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dawson died Feb. 6, 2003 in Terry, Miss.
She was born Jan. 17, 1910 in WANETTE, the daughter of Daniel P. Kesler and Mattie (Taylor) Kesler. She was reared in the Trousdale/WANETTE area and attended Ivy Grade School, graduating from WANETTE High School.
Mrs. Dawson attended East Central University in Ada, graduating with a master’s degree in education.
On June 4, 1934 she married Wayne W. Dawson in Purcell. The couple lived in WANETTE where Mrs. Dawson worked as a schoolteacher.
Mrs. Dawson moved to Terry in 1998 to live with her granddaughter due to her failing health.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne W. Dawson Jan. 18, 1992; two sons, William D. and Danny Ray Dawson; two brothers, Clarence and Woodrow Kesler and two sisters, Otha and Edna Kesler.
Survivors include three granddaughters; two sisters, Goldie Chastain of Bethany and Blanche Hudson and her husband, Fay, of Asher and five great-grandchildren.
