Michael "Mike" Darold Hedrick, 58, died December 04, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born September 5, 1955.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Delores Nelson Hedrick, of the home; two sons, Jonathan Hedrick and fiancée Alisabeth Bristol of the home; Jack Hackney and girlfriend Mandy Templeton of Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Laura McNeill and husband Allen of Fleetwood, NC; one aunt, Anna Carter of Fort Sanilac, MI; one grandson, Spencer Hackney of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Delaney McNeill and one unborn granddaughter, Vail McNeill, both of Fleetwood, NC; and special friend Olin Cook of Boone.
Mike owned and operated Boone Meat Center for over twenty years. He enjoyed serving his Lord and Savior and sharing his testimony with his customers and strangers. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, Mike was one of the Miami Dolphins biggest fans along with being an Atlanta Braves fan.
Funeral services were held at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by the Revs. Eric Proffit, Rick Critcher, and Mike Townsend. Pallbearers were Eddie Perkins, Erin "Ernie" Hodge, Allen McNeil, Hunter Shook, Jacob Watson, Frank Guy, and Bradley Swift. Honorary Pallbearers were the men of the Hardees breakfast club of new Market Center.
