SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Aaron Z. Browning, 79, of Shepherdstown, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Homewood at Williamsport.

Born Jan. 4, 1924, in Switzer, W.Va., he was the son of the late Aaron and Anna Neal Browning.

He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from West Virginia University and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

He was employed by the U.S. government.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

He was a member and past president of Shepherdstown Men's Club and Historical Shepherdstown Commission, and a member of Jefferson County Historical Society, Adam Stephens Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, Henry Kyd Douglas Camp Cons of Confederate Veterans and Toastmasters Club of Washington, D.C.

He is survived by one sister, Margaret K. Browning of West Virginia.

A private memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Shepherdstown. The Rev. G.T. Schramm will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 308, Shepherdstown, WV 25443.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Shepherdstown.
