Frank Wise, 88, of Ironton, died on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Ironton, the son of the late John and Isabelle Maine Wise.
He was a WWII Army veteran. He retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company after 36 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Clarence (Andy) Wise.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Blackwell Wise; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Ann Wise of South Point and Steve and Liz Wise of Ironton; one sister, Edna Nook Freeman of Ironton; six grandchildren, Eric, Terry and Travis Wise, Melissa Howes, Ra'Etta and Justin Wise and 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery, section 22, with Pastor Butch Deere officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. 8850. Visitation will be 10 a.m.- noon Tuesday at O'Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Donation are requested In lieu of flowers to Ashland community hospice 2330 Pollard Road Ashland Ky 41101.
