Mildred E. Harper, 84, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Century Villa Healthcare, Greentown, Indiana.

Mildred was born in Marion, Indiana on January 26, 1929, to the late Eli and Malvra (Lawson) Adkins. She married Roy J. Harper on March 16, 1947, and he survives. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Marion Malleable Iron Works and Foster Forbes Glass Factory. Mildred was a member of Sims Wesleyan Church and when her eyesight was better, she was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include husband, Roy Harper, Swayzee; daughters, Evelyn (Jim) Spencer, Swayzee and Karen (Jerry) Zeiher, Greentown; grandchildren, Misty Shock, Swayzee, and her daughter, Allison Shock, David (Jayme) Henchon, Carmel, and their son, Kyle Henchon, Christy (Brett Lebo) Whitton, Marion, and her children, Josie Whitton and Cali Whitton, and Brian (Courtney) Henchon, Lafayette, and their children, Brady Henchon, Drew Henchon, and Jared Henchon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Malvra Adkins; brothers, Earl and Claude Atkins; and sister, Sondra Adkins.

Visitation will be from 12 – 2 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Sims Wesleyan Church, 309 N. Main Street, Sims, Indiana.

Funeral Service will be at 2 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Sims Wesleyan Church, 309 N. Main Street, Sims, Indiana with Pastor Brian Williams officiating. Burial will be in Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee, Indiana.

Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington Street, Swayzee, Indiana handled arrangements.
