Smith is living in Kent County, Mi in 1920. He died at his daughter, Mabel Imperi's home in Pontiac.

It is my belief that his parents are William and Martha Wannamaker McConnell. His marriage in
1905 to Lottie Stevens in Grand Rapids lists his parents as Wm. McConnell and Martha. That is the only reference I find to his parents. However, William and Martha Wannamaker had several children and they all seemed to end up in the Muskegon and Grand Rapids area. One of their daughters was Phena (Triphena) and Lorenzo named his daughter Triphena also. He is not listed on the 1861 census with the family in Canada, but I have seen various dates for his birth so he may have been born after 1861.
Martha Wannamaker McConnell married second to John Yarrow. Their son, Herbert, married Ivah Kelley. Ivah's parents were Daniel Kelley and Amelia Cotton. Amelia Cotton's 3rd marriage was to Lorenzo McConnell......just another connection!
Update 12/2017: On the 1884 Census for Montague, Michigan, John and Martha Yarrow and then Smith Yarrow - son age 20, born Canada along with Herbert Yarrow, age 11.

His other two children are:
William Lawrence Smith McConnell 1889 Mi to 1967 Deer Lodge, Montana
Triphena Mabel McConnell Imperi 1891 Michigan - living in 1940 in Pontiac, Michigan with husband Eggidio Louis Imperi and their two children, Edward and Lillian.
