Vesta Lucille Graves Allen, was born December 1, 1929 in Baker City, OR, to Henry Allison and Lola Lucille Graves. She had seven siblings, all younger than her, Barbara Stoltz, Marjorie Blank, Nona Carpenter, George (Pete) Graves, Shirley Carpenter, Bill Graves, Vada Landweer.

She married James Westley Allen on May 6, 1951. Mr. Allen was military and they traveled in the military until the day of his retirement in 1969. They lived in 49 places, including Europe, the US, and the orient. She resided in Spanaway for the last 42 years. She had three children. They adopted Mr. Allen's niece, and Roy Osman was loved much as a son by the Allens. She graduated from Baker City High School in 1947. She attended one year at Northwest Nazarene in Nampa, ID. Mrs. Allen taught Sunday School for thirty years and made quits for many of her students and their children. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Temple. She traveled with Mr. Allen and Pastor and Pearl Bramblett when Pastor was an evangelist.

She was preceded death by her husband James and by one son, her parents Henry and Lola Graves, her sisters Barbara, Marjorie, and her brother George. She died December 3, 2013 at 4:45 P.M. Many thanks to Roy Osman for help in Mom's final days. Visitation 2-7 P. M. Friday, December 6th, at Fir Lane Funeral Home, 924 176th St. E. Spanaway, WA Memorial services 1 P. M. Saturday, December 7th, at the Lakewood Baptist Temple, 10710 Military RD SW, Lakewood, WA. Arrangements by Fir Lane Funeral Funeral Home.
