Mrs. Starnes was an Officer and Administrative Assistant to Edward A. Arditti, Sr. for over 35 years in Mr. Arditti's companies, Ardex, Inc., Regency House, Inc. and the Edward A. Arditti Charitable Foundation. She was a member of Poovey's Grove Baptist Church for over 65 years, and a member of the choir there for over 30 years. She served as the church treasurer and was a charter member and first president of Poovey's Grove Home Demonstration Club in Granite Falls, NC.
The following is a quote from Omega: "If, in some small way I have touched anyone, let that be remembered in the mind of that individual. I do not need flowery speeches, just a few facts: I loved God, my family, my church and my work. Along the way I have acquired some very special friends without whom my life would not have been the same. (Brenda Johnson, Ruby Huffman, and Jean Fulbright). God gave me a wonderful brain and I enjoyed working and learning. I felt that a day was not complete unless I learned something new. I believe I have passed on much love and enthusiasm to my family and trust that, they, in turn will teach their children the joys of reaping the fruits of their labor."
Interment in Poovey's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
