Sarah E. Polk, age 87 years, of Big Falls passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Paiser's Oakhaven Assisted Living, Shawano. The former Sarah Emma Klepps was born on February 23, 1924 at home in the Town of Helvetia, Waupaca County, daughter of the late John and Edna (Olsen) Klepps. She was united in marriage to Edwin W. Polk on December 11, 1943 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Big Falls. The couple farmed in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on May 6, 2007. Sarah was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she enjoyed volunteering with the Ladies Aid and she helped clean the church. Her interests included cooking, working outside with her flowers, reading and volunteering for the Town of Wyoming during the Elections.

Survivors include four children: Mary (Hugh) Huff, San Mateo, CA; Judy (Charles) Frey, Ladysmith; Ronald Polk, Marion, and Edwin (Sandra) Polk, Jr.., Clintonville. There are four grandchildren: Brian Huff, Christine Morton, Dick Fowler, and Nannette Hoch. There are eight great grandchildren: Kayla (Mark) Budden, Kyle and Kaz Hoch, Aidan and Noah Morton, and Brett, Brittany and Kira Fowler and a great-great-grandson, Landon Budden. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin, a brother, John Klepps, and a sister, Evelyn Much.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21st at 1 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Big Falls. Rev. Jeffrey Smiles will officiate and burial will be in the spring at Big Falls Cemetery.
