She was raised in the Clearmont community where she attended school. She was later united in marriage to Donald Terry and this union was blessed with the birth of ten children, seven sons and three daughters. Donald passed away in 1977.
Wilma worked as a nurses aid in Storm Lake, Iowa for a nursing home until she received her LPN in 1958. She later moved to Shenandoah where she worked for Mount Arbor Nurseries and Henry Fields until her retirement in 1980. Following her retirement she worked summers for J & G Wholesale in Wyoming.
Wilma loved the Lord with her whole heart. When she was able to attend church she was a regular member of the Assembly of God Church in Shenandoah. She also believed in supporting other Christian Ministries such as Billy Graham and Benny Henn. She loved to journal her thoughts and write letters. She loved to sew and embroidered many pillowcases for her family, which they will always cherish. Her family was her true treasure, her pride and joy!
She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Terry; daughter Donna Haddenham; and brothers Raymond and Stanley Hockman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Darrell Terry and wife Sara of Buffalo, TX, Keith Terry of Essex, IA, Lyle Terry and wife Patty of Red Oak, IA, Jim Terry and wife Zelda of Shenandoah, IA, David Terry of Farragut, IA, Kim Terry and wife Sherry of Shenandoah, IA, Shirley Kragel and husband Ron of Alcestor, SD, and Diana Jones and husband Mooch of Essex, IA; 39 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends
