Son of Thomas R Jaquith and Mary Ann Wiley.

On June 20, 1861, Thomas mustered in as a Private in Company I, 2nd Regiment, Vermont Infantry. He was wounded at the battle of Bull Run on July 21 the same year. In December, 1862, he was wounded at Fredericksburg. Thomas was wounded again at the Battle of Spotsylvania on May 12, 1864, and mustered out June 29th 1864.

Thomas married Ellen Thompson on August 19, 1865 in Springfield, Vermont. The couple lived on Thomas' farm in Londonderry.
