He was married June 21, 1952 in Kansas City, Mo. to Donna Pulliam, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Barry (Brenda) Norvell of Valparaiso and Cary (Sandy) Norvell of Crown Point; a daughter, Sherry (Ed) Praschak of Valparaiso and three grandchildren, Traci Norvell, Katrina and Alexandra Praschak.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Norvell. Darrell was a resident of the area for 40 years. He was a structural ironworker with Local #1 of Chicago. He was a member of Vale Church of Christ, Valparaiso
and a Boy Scout Troop Committeeman. After receiving his apprenticeship as a structural ironworker, he was employed by the American Bridge Company, working in the construction of many bridges and many structural steel buildings across several states as well as the missile sites in Mo. and Mont., and also the installation of the antenna's on the Hancock Building in Chicago.
Funeral services, Mark Russell officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 at Dykes Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 North Campbell St., Valparaiso.
Memorials may be sent to the Horton V.N.A. Hospice Center, Valparaiso.
