Victoria Marie Stanzione, of Chesterton, died Saturday, June 26, 2004 at V.N.A. Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was 85.

She was born Jan. 4, 1919 in Calabria, Italy, the daughter of Dominic and Mary (Bertuca) Notaro, both of whom preceded her in death.

On June 10, 1939 in Gary, she married Victor Stanzione, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by a son Paul (Jamie) Stanzione of Decatur, Ill.; three daughters, Frances (Stan) Fickle of Indianapolis, Mary Ann Goszewski of Chesterton and Rosalie (Bill) Roop of Liberty Twp.; 17 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers John and Frank Notaro and a sister, Mary Notaro.

She was a local resident for six years. She was a home maker. She came to the United States at the age of nine. She was active in the YMCA children's activities.

A Funeral service, Rev. Ian Williams officiating, will be at noon Tuesday, June 29 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon.

Memorials may be made to any children's charity of the donor's choice.
