Peggy (Williams) Caldwell was born on February 1, 1930 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of George Crosthwalt Williams (1904-1980) and Essie "Louise" (Jarman) Williams (1909-1999).
She was married about 1961 to Reverend Earl Eugene Caldwell (1928-2001), the son of Milus Wilson Caldwell (1893-1962) and Margaret (Troxler) Caldwell (ca 1896- ).
She was a 1947 graduate of Central High School in Murfreesboro and attended Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky.
A Certified Activity Director, she worked in retirement homes and nursing centers in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
Her husband was a Presbyterian minister for over 50 years, and she worked alongside him in the churches that he served, which included Auburn, Pewee Valley, Owensboro and Paducah, Kentucky, and Hubbard, Ohio.
Since moving back home to Tennessee, Peggy lived at the Cloister and Park Manor, and enjoyed attending activities and spending time with her many, many friends.
She was a long-time volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank and a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Key to the City and All States Bridge Club. A special ministry for her was knitting hats for cancer patients that were undergoing treatment at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
A resident of Nashville, she was 83 years old when she passed away on December 2, 2013 at her home at Park Manor.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by her brother George E "Eddie" Williams. Survivors included a married daughter, two brothers, eight nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Burial was in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens next to her husband. Honorary Pallbearers were her friends from the Cloister and Park Manor.
