Passed away October 25, 2007 from complications due to a long and courageous battle with MS. He was born December 14, 1932 in Spokane To Clarence & Bertha Koch and attended Lewis and Clark High School. Philip enlisted in the Army in 1950 and served his country in Korea, returning home in 1952 after contracting Tuberculosis. After a long convalescence he worked in the summers in the logging industry. During the winter Philip began working as a cab driver. Later he became the first independent owner of a cab company in the state of WA, and operated the business for a number of years in Spokane. He married his first wife Blanche in 1955 and in 1969 married Aldene, his true soul mate for 33 years. He is survived by his children: Phyllis Koch-Troncale (Michael) of Spokane, Philip H. Koch Jr. of Spokane, William A. Koch of Onalaska, WA, Sammie R. Koch-Fisette (Kenneth), Karla Goenen of Tacoma, WA, Diana Borses of Utah, Patrick Karl Lauer of Issaquah, WA, and Ronald Bouchard of Spokane; sister, Nellie B. Mead ( Russel); sister-in-law, Nadene Simonsen of Spokane; and brothers-in-law, Russel and Glen Chapman of Bellingham, WA; several grandsons, one granddaughter, and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded by: son, Clarence "Gene" Koch; daughter, Shirley Ann Koch; his wives, Blanche Koch and Aldene Kay Koch. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, November 2, 2007 at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe, Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Veterans Home, 222 E. Fifth St., Spokane WA 99202.
