Kenneth F. Shields, 89, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013. He was born in Witt, IL on January 14, 1924 to Ernest H. and Anna Pavolko Shields. Kenneth served in the US Navy aboard the USS Saratoga during WWII. He worked as an Electronics Inspector at Naval Avionics for 32 years. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, the National Republican Committee, the Navy League of the United States and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie C. Shields; his son, Brian W. Shields; and his sister, Mary Agnes Cecil. He is survived by his son, Jim Shields; daughter, Diane Gardner (Tom); grandchildren, Amy Gardner-Young (Andrew), Ann Semon (Justin), Kenny Shields, Hannah Shields; and his great granddaughter, Nora Young.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Daniel F. O' Riley Funeral Home where morning prayers will be said on Friday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to Seeds of Hope, Inc., 1425 S.
