GRACE GEORGE ADA-Services for Grace George, 89, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Central Church of Christ, Bud Ross and Micky Cowan will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. George died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born January 29, 1924 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma to Herbert and Eula Goodson Bulman. She graduated from high school, and received a Bachelor's and Master's degree from East Central University. She married Elvan George on February 3, 1945 in Ada. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1974. Mrs. George taught English and Family/Consumer Economics at Ada High School and East Central University from 1946 until retiring in 1986. She was named the first "Distinguished Former Faculty Award" at East Central in 2007 and in the Spring of 2012, she was inducted into the East Central University Educators Hall of Fame. She was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ, a member of the American Home Economics Association, and the Oklahoma Home Economics Association. Survivors include her nephews, Bronson Warren and wife Allene of Ada, Harris Penner and wife Vickie of Sulphur, and David Bulman and wife Kerri of Midwest City; her nieces, Becky Thompson and husband Rick of Shawnee and Suzanne Coyle of Ada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Mattie Warren and Mardell Penner; and brother, Dr. John Bulman. Bearers will be Pat O'Neal, Doyle Johnson, Charlie Mayhue, Gerald Williamson, Joe Lee Walker, and Tommy Redman. The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Compassion Outreach Center, o/c Central Church of Christ, 820 Stadium Drive, Ada, OK 74820.
