NEWARK: A memorial gathering of family and friends, for Ronald E. "Ron" Westbrook, 64, of Newark, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark. Ron's ashes will be spread in Clearwater Florida at a later date. Ron passed away November 29, 2013, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 29, 1949, in Newark, to the late Earl O. and Hazel I. (Wright) Westbook.
Ron was a 1967 graduate of Newark Senior High School. Ron had a 30 year career in the auto mobile sales industry and had worked for Chesrown Chevrolet, Coughlin Chevrolet, Bowman Chevrolet and TNT Motor Sales as a car salesman. Ron was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was an avid golfer and loved the beach, water and sun. Ron loved the state of Florida and had hoped to return there someday.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Stacey (Nathan) Martin of Florida; sisters, Cathy Baker of Newark and Judith Brown of Newark; nephews, Gregory (Wanda) Moore of Dresden, Shawn (Julie) Brown of Utica, Michael (Billie) Baker of Newark, Travis (Tekela) Baker of Newark; nieces Tracey (Ricky) Mayle of Zanesville, Kris Brown of Newark; 3 grandchildren, and several great nieces & nephews.
