Anysia Dorothy Leonhard, age 90 of Sheboygan passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Sheboygan. Anysia was born Dec. 30, 1922 in rural Elkhart Lake to the late Peter and Mamie (Klein) Faust. She went to grade school at Lime Ridge near Elkhart Lake and then attended high school in Elkhart Lake. Anysia was baptized, received her first communion and was confirmed at St. George's Parish in Elkhart Lake. Anysia worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Carl Weber and then at Wigwam Mills for a few years. She married Aloysius L. Leonhard on October 20, 1945 at St. Fidelis Catholic Church in the Town of Meeme; he preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1984. She was a member of Holy Name Parish for many years and belonged to the St. Anne's Society for over 50 years, serving as President and Secretary. Anysia loved gardening, canning, taking care of her yard, sewing and crocheting.
Anysia is survived by her four sons and their wives; two grandsons.
Anysia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Jeanette (Arno) Leonhard, Matilda (Raymond) Koenig, Casilda (Theodore) Binversie, Thecla (Elwin) Andre; and sister-in-law Mildred (Joseph) Duschel.
Family and friends may call at Holy Name Catholic Church, Huron Ave., on Thursday from 9:30 - 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the church with Fr. Matthew J. Widder officiating. Burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
