Patricia J. "Pat" Gilman, 80, a lifelong native of Forest Grove community, died on Sunday afternoon, December 1, 2013 at the Hawthorne House Assisted Living in Forest Grove.
PATRICIA JEANNE "PAT" GILMAN was born on March 17, 1933 in Hillsboro, Oregon the daughter of the late B.G. "Bert" and Beatrice (Brown) McNay. She was raised and received her education in the Forest Grove community, having been a graduate with Forest Grove High School Class of 1951. She graduated from the Oregon Association of School for Business Officials in 1985.
She worked as a Deputy Clerk for the Forest Grove School District for 33 years until her retirement in 1992.
Pat was a lifetime member of the Forest Grove United Methodist Church, having served as the volunteer bookkeeper for twenty-five years. She volunteered as well for the Forest Grove Chamber of Commerce and the Forest Grove Concours, and for years for Washington County as a Ballot Counter.
Among her special interests she enjoyed traveling, was an avid Trail Blazer fan she loved to attend the Portland Symphony, Pops and Ballet.
She is preceded in death by her parents, B.G. "Burt" and Beatrice (Brown) McNay.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Wanda Gilman, of California and Jeffrey and Joan Gilman, of Forest Grove, Oregon and her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dale Vanderzanden, of North Plains, Oregon. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Janelle, Jacob, Jason, Janeen, Shawn and Ryan Gilman and her three great grandchildren, Alex, Lucas and Jeffrey Jarrett and several nieces and nephews.
