Roger Dean Lambert, 68, Kankakee, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at his home.
He was born July 27, 1948 in Kankakee to Romain and Kathryn Duffield Lambert. He married Peggy Williams Sept. 17, 1994.
Mr. Lambert was employed by Shapiro Developmental Center for 20 years. He then moved to the southern part of Illinois and was employed by Illinois Department of Transportation as a highway maintainer for 10 years. He retired in 2007. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Kankakee VFW and the Kankakee American Legion. He enjoyed his family, camping, fishing and the Chicago Bears.
Surviving are his wife, Kankakee; his son, Tom Lambert, Champaign; his daughter, Monica Gero, Bradley; his stepsons, Jeff (Dana) Weidner, Kankakee, Dr. Dan (Mike) Weidner, Milwaukee, WI., Steve Jr (Sarah) Weidner, Bradley; six sisters, Shirley (Juan) Connors, Bourbonnais, Jeannie Grob, Winter Haven, FL., Annie Overton and Audrey Truesdell, both of Jacksonville, Judy Grob, Peoria, AZ., Mary (Dale) Lietz, Grant Park; three brothers, Arthur (Nancy) Lambert, East Prairie, MO., Gerald Levesque, Aroma Park, Robert Duffield, St. Anne; grandchildren, Mark, Zack, Brittany, Kaitlynee, Angel, Austin, Nate, Jaycob, Brison and Canton; two great grandchildren, Rylan and Amelia.
Funeral services were held Sept. 30 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery in Kankakee.
Memorials may be made for Alzheimer's research.
