He was born on April 2, 1944, in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Romie Johnson and Vassie Canipe Johnson. Mr. Johnson was retired from Western Youth Institution and was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Carl and Lebron Johnson and two sisters, Christine Allman and Ellen Barnette.
Suvivors include his wife of 43 years, Martha Ann Johnson; two sons, Jonathan Johnson and Jason Johnson both of Morganton; and one grandchild, Trinity Johnson of Morganton.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, on Wednesday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston.
