Payne Pioneer Farmer Dies
Clarence H. Stone, 81, farmer who lived 4 miles south of Stillwater since 1891, died Sunday in Oklahoma City.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Strode Funeral chapel, with Rev. V.A. Doty in charge. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery.
He was born in Vanburen, Iowa, March 2, 1867, the son of John and Juliett Stone. On March 5, 1891, he was married to Ida Bolkinger at Mankato, Kas., and they came to Oklahoma soon after their marriage, settling on a farm 4 miles south of Stillwater.
His wife and two daughters, Mrs. Edna Combs, of the home, and Adlai G. Stone, of Ponca City, survive. A son, Irwin L., and daughter, Golda R. Ingram, preceded their father in death. Also surviving are one brother, Lovel H. Stone, of Humboldt, Kas., seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Robert Kinnamon, Ross Calkins, Luther Stich, William Sumner, Joe Human, and Lee Kirk.
