Mrs. Macy Lankford, 79, died Monday (December 2, 2013) at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness.

She was a native of Macclenny, FL but had lived most of her life in Ware County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Crews and Clovine White Crews and two sisters, Edith CHAUNCEY and Lecy SHAW.

She was a member of Deenwood Baptist Church and had been active in the nursery and kitchen. She loved working with flowers plus watching and feeding birds.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, 1st Sgt. Raymond Lankford (U.S. Army Retired) of Waycross; a daughter, Deborah Ann Henderson (Edward) of Waycross; three sons, Raymond Eddie Lankford (Diane) of Nahunta, Gregory Lankford (Melody) of Blackshear and James Wiley Lankford of Waycross; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday (December 5, 2013) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Telmore Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 6 until 8 o'clock.
