Mrs. Shelton was born in Michigan, December 24, 1939 and was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Buffalo.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons, John Eugene Nelson and wife Kathy of Comstock, MI, Richard Lee Nelson and wife Lydia of West Columbia, Michael Ray Nelson and wife Dinna of Los Angeles, CA and Steven Walter Nelson and wife Jan of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Dawn Marie Nelson Gray and husband Walter of Pomaria; two sisters, Mona Smith and husband Ron of Kalamazoo, MI and Mary Pettit of Comstock, MI; one brother, Fred Baker of New York; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Shelton's sons and grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
