Aaron the son of Mary C. Glazar of Tampa FL, the dear brother of Dennis L. Glazar of Wilmington DE, and the son of David H. Glazer who predeceased him enlisted in the US Marine Corps on February 13 1968 in Jacksonville FL. He arrived in Vietnam on July 28 1968 where he was assigned for duty with Company L, 3d Battalion, 26th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.
During the month of September the primary mission for the Battalion was providing security for the main supply route from the Hai Van Pass to the Phu Lac village in Thua Tien Province. On September 23, the Marines ambushed a superior NVA force moving towards a bridge and after a fierce fire fight the Marines were able to force the enemy to withdraw. Company L suffered three men killed and one wounded in the action. One of the casualties was PFC Glazar killed by fragmentation wounds from a hostile grenade.
