Lois Leona Caldwell, 90, of Stanton, widow of the late George Kennedy Caldwell, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013. Lois was born August 11, 1923, to Gaylord and Rachel (Fogelsonger) Crawford in Flint, Mich. When she was a teenager the family moved to Manton where she graduated from Manton High School.

Lois enjoyed a full life as a homemaker, traveling throughout the country with her husband, playing the organ and piano, designing and sewing much of her own clothing, handcrafted purses, cosmetic and tote bags. It brought her great pleasure to play the organ for her highly regarded church family at Sunday services and hymn sing for her cherished friends at Myrtle Mae apartments.

Mrs Caldwell is survived by: sister Marjorie Dontje of Cadillac; son Douglas Caldwell (Roelie), Ludington, Mich.; daughters; Marcia Lopez, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Sherry Hayes, Bradenton, Fla.; Suzanne Rhodes (Charles), Clio, Mich.; Christie Binelli, Flushing, Mich.; grandchildren; Sgt. Robert Vance (Margaret), Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Kimberly Wittkopp, New Kent, Va.; John Hayes, San Antonio, Texas; Lynnette Ticarro (Christophe), Skagway, Ark.; Daniel Hayes (Kristen), Flint, Mich., and several great grandchildren.

Special thanks from the Caldwell family to: Our family's lifelong highly esteemed friends William and Genia McClinchey; Gerald and Ellen Burkett, Connie Claflin, and staff of the Laurels of Carson City, Mich., for their exceptional, unconditional love and care of our mother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 3rd, at Edmore First Church of God, 123 E. Main St., Edmore, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edmore First Church of God.

The family is being served by the Barden Funeral Home in Stanton. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.
