According to infomation found on United Daughters of the Confederacy papers, Mr Geddings served in the Confederate States Navy. He was discharged on April 7, 1865.
Father was Theodore Archibald Whitney; Mother, Eliza Brown; married Josephine B. Huggins in North Carolina, September
4, 1865. Mrs. J.B. Whitney died June 2, 1892 at age 45 of Cancer. She is also buried at Bellevue Cemetery in Wilmington, NC, Section D, Lot 13, same lot as her husband.
