Margie Faye Byrd Blake, 77, of Big Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, in a local hospital. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at First Baptist Church in Big Lake. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with burial following in Glen Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Blake was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Graham, Texas to Henry Harley Byrd and Roxie Ramsey Byrd. She married Eugene Jackson Blake Aug. 20, 1955, in Midland.

Margie was a secretary for several local businesses in Big Lake and an active member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Blake was also a member of the Garden Club, 20th Century Club, Happy Homemakers, and enjoyed many arts and crafts such as woodworking, painting and quilting.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include her husband, Eugene "Gene" Blake, three sons, Randy Blake and wife Rita, all of Big Lake, Ronnie Blake of Odessa and Gary Blake of Big Lake; one daughter, Sherry Rackley and husband Mark of Midland; two sisters, Francis Louise Goodall of Plano and Bobbie Sherry and husband Eugene of Bay City; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
