Michael Thomasson, 67, of Columbus, died Thursday, November 15, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident.

Mr. Thomasson was a partner with Thomasson Thomasson Long & Guthrie PC since 1971.

He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Southern Pines, N.C., and Country Club of Indianapolis.

He was also a former board member of Children's Inc., Dancer's Studio and Legal Aid.

A celebration of Mr. Thomasson's life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, 34 West Washington Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176, with Pastor Reid Walker officiating.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; cremation will take place following the calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charities.

Michael was born in Shelbyville on May 16, 1945, the son of Hubert Lee and Mary Margaret King Thomasson.

He married Debbie R. Wright on October 19, 2002.

Survivors include his wife Debbie R. Wright-Thomasson; children, Amy (George) Inge of Richmond, Va., Meg (Adam) Thompson of Bend, Ore., Peter Thomasson of Madison, Wis., Tarra (Stephen) Millender of Southern Pines, N.C., Amber (Eric) Pastusek of Houston, Texas, and Emily Wright Thomasson of Chapel, N.C.; a brother, Dan King Thomasson of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Peggy Browne of Shelbyville; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jacqueline Weiss.
