Geneva Wells was first married to Virgil J. Sallee before 1946. They were the parents of four children. Virgil died 30 July 1993 and is buried in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in LaRue County, Kentucky.

GENEVA WELLS DEATON, age 77, of Hodgenville, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at the Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chandler Deaton; her parents, Turner and Mae Tate Wells; a sister, Mary Mittag and two brothers, Lewis Wells and J.C. Wells. She is survived by two sisters, Beatrice Weinberger of Louisville and Rose Brown of Hodgenville; three brothers, Leslie (Donna) Wells, Delma (Velma) Wells and Roger Wells all of Hodgenville and two special sisters-in-law, Eller Wells and Stella Wells. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, November 11, 2005 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Rogers Pepper and Rev. Gerald Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
